Lakeside Landing: Our First Property, and What Bliss Actually Feels Like

Every hospitality brand has a beginning, and ours is a two-bedroom unit in the heart of Corpus Christi, sleeping six, with a balcony that catches the evening light just right. We call it Lakeside Landing — and it's where the Bay Area Bliss philosophy stopped being an idea and became a place you can actually book.
Why here, why this space
When we set out to open our first property, we didn't want a place that simply slept guests comfortably. Plenty of rentals do that. We wanted a space that felt like an exhale — somewhere the pace slows down the moment you walk in.
Lakeside Landing sits right near a tranquil lake, a hidden oasis you'd miss if you didn't know it was there, with lake access and community pool, walking trail, and catch-and-release fishing just steps away. It's close enough to the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington, and Padre Island beaches to make a great home base for exploring — but it's quiet enough that most guests tell us they never wanted to leave.
That balance was the whole point. A destination stay and a retreat, in the same place.
Curating the experience, not just the space
Furnishing a rental is easy. Curating an experience is a different task entirely, and it's the one we actually care about.
We thought through the stay the way a guest actually moves through it. A restful king suite for the primary guests, a bunk room for the kids or the extra crew, so families and groups don't have to choose between comfort and togetherness. A dedicated workspace for the remote worker who wants a change of scenery without giving up productivity. A private balcony for the moment at the end of the day when all you want is the sunset and quiet.
And then the small things — the ones that don't show up in a listing description but show up in a review. A coffee bar stocked with a curated selection of coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, ready whether you need a slow morning or a late-night treat. Self check-in that respects your time. A covered parking space, because we know arriving after a long drive shouldn't come with one more thing to figure out.
None of it is loud. None of it is meant to be. That's understated luxury, in practice — not the most amenities, but the right ones, chosen with actual guests in mind.

What bliss is actually supposed to feel like
We talk a lot about bliss, and if you've ever wondered what that actually means, this is it: the moment you set your bags down, catch the breeze off the balcony, and feel your shoulders drop a little. Not excitement, exactly. Something quieter than that. Relief, maybe, or recognition — the sense that you've landed somewhere that was expecting you.
That's the feeling we built Lakeside Landing around. It's why the reviews keep mentioning the same things: comfort, cleanliness, quiet, and a location that lets you have both the city and the water without choosing between them. A year into hosting, a 4.97 rating, and Guest Favorite status later, that feeling seems to be coming through.
This is only the beginning
Lakeside Landing is our first property, not our only idea. It's the proof of concept for everything else we're building at Bay Area Bliss and what comes next. But it's also just a genuinely lovely place to stay in Corpus Christi, and that's what matters most.
If you're ready to feel it for yourself, book Lakeside Landing on Airbnb and come see what bliss actually feels like.
